In 2014, the Georgia Legislature established the Alzheimer’s Disease Registry within the Department of Public Health. The purpose of the registry is: 1) to collect and disseminate usable data to inform programs and services for the aging population, 2) identify epidemiological trends, 3) bring awareness at the state level to issues that affect healthy aging, and 4) inform stakeholders for planning and for future registry needs.
This report presents updates on various Georgia Alzheimer’s and Related Dementias (GARD) State Plan Workgroups. We also examine various demographic factors associated with the prevalence of perceived cognitive impairment (PCI) among Georgia Adults, using Georgia Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (GA-BRFSS) data.
