Newly appointed by Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, the nine members of the Board of Public Health have begun preparations for their meeting to be held on November 8. And anticipation is building.
"This Board is comprised of Georgia's best prepared, most knowledgeable and most accomplished professionals," said Brenda Fitzgerald, MD, Commissioner of the Department of Public Health (DPH). "Coming from diverse professional backgrounds, they truly understand the challenges before us."
Among the many considerations before the Board for determination will be meeting frequency, adoption of by-laws, and preparations to select a Board Chair.
Board members first gathered on September 26 for an orientation including presentations of DPH goals, the Department's mission and its composition.
The November meeting of the Board of Public Health will be held at the 2 Peachtree Street Tower, 5th floor, on Tuesday, November 8 at 1:00 pm.
