2026 STI Awareness Week Events Across Georgia
STI Awareness Week is happening across Georgia from April 12–18, 2026, with health districts hosting free testing events, outreach activities, and awareness campaigns to support prevention, testing, and treatment.
While events vary by district, communities statewide are taking action through the Talk. Test. Treat. initiative to reduce stigma and improve access to care.

April 28, 2026 — Georgia Southern UniversitySoutheast Health District is providing STI education, testing, and prevention resources through community outreach and campus engagement. Incentives are offered to increase participation and access to services.

Location: Facebook and InstagramDistrict 4 is sharing STI awareness messaging and highlighting available services through social media posts and reels, including an interview with an STI program coordinator.
District: Coastal Health District (District 9-1)
Event: Free STI Testing Events
Locations: Chatham County Health Department (Savannah), Effingham County Health Department (Springfield), and Liberty County Health Department (Hinesville)Free STI testing is available throughout the week at multiple Coastal Health District locations. Hours vary by site, with availability in the morning and afternoon. Walk-ins are accepted at select locations.

Location: Athlete’s Foot, 564 Lee St SW, Atlanta, GA 30310
Time: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PMThis event provides HIV testing, outreach, and prevention services in a community retail setting to increase awareness and access to care.
District: District 4 Public Health
Event: STI Awareness Newsletter Feature
Location: OnlineDistrict 4 will distribute its monthly e-newsletter to more than 10,000 subscribers, featuring a lead article on STI Awareness Month, education on the difference between STIs and STDs, and information about STI prevalence in Georgia.
District: Coastal Health District (District 9-1)
Event: Free STI Testing Event
Locations: Bryan County Health Department (Richmond Hill) and McIntosh County Health Department (Townsend)Community members can access free STI testing and prevention services. Appointments are preferred but not required.

Location: Georgia Southwestern University, Americus, GeorgiaFree rapid syphilis and HIV testing provided by the West Central Health District Prevention Services Program (STD/HIV Prevention Program), expanding access to testing and prevention services for students.
