Mission

The mission of the Georgia Department of Public Health, Nutrition Services Unit is to ensure, promote, and influence nutrition-related policies,http://health.state.ga.us/programs/nutrition/5aday/images/fvmm.gif practices and system development statewide.

We do so by:

  • Conducting population-based services within the three core functions of Public Health: Assessment, Policy Development and Assurance
  • Increasing the demand and providing options for achieving healthy eating lifestyles
  • Enabling citizens to make informed food choices
  • Creating public/private partnerships to share responsibility for actions
