More than 180,000 Georgians are living with Alzheimer's disease or related dementias (ADRD). As Georgia's population ages, this number is expected to grow significantly over the next decade.

Georgia monitors Alzheimer's disease and related dementias using data from multiple sources, including tracking self-reported memory and thinking concerns as early signs of cognitive impairment.

Caregivers

Caregivers play a critical role in supporting people living with chronic health conditions or disabilities, including Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Caregivers may help with daily activities, health care needs, safety, and other essential supports. While caregiving can be meaningful and rewarding, it can also affect caregiver’s health and well-being. Tracking caregivers’ experiences across Georgia can help identify needs, guide support and services, and better inform caregivers, families, communities, health care providers, and organizations.
