Healthy children lead to healthy adults. By focusing on the whole school, the whole community, and the whole child, we can improve health outcomes in Georgia.
The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) supports youth, schools, communities and caregivers by—
- Creating asthma-friendly and tobacco-free environments
- Providing asthma self-management education
- Encouraging medical providers to follow guidelines-based care for asthma management
- Focusing on positive youth development as early as 5th grade
- Preventing teen pregnancy
- Preventing sexual violence
- Preventing bullying
- Preventing adverse childhood experiences
